Yeppoon is located on the Capricorn coast in Central Queensland. Positioned halfway between Brisbane and Cairns it provides a beautiful all year round average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Yeppoon and its surrounding suburbs currently have a population of around 11,500, but this statistic is rising quickly as the growth in this area is phenomenal. The Livingstone shire reports a population of approximately 27,000 this includes Yeppoon and other towns in the region.

Coal mining has brought a lot of money to the Capricorn Coast region and boosted the population immensely. Findings indicate that this mining boom will continue to boost revenue and population growth for at least the next 10-15 years.

Yeppoon has many beaches that provide a great range of water sports and good fishing. Many of Yeppoon’s beaches allow dogs. The main beach of Yeppoon is regularly patrolled by the local Surf Life Saving Club and there are many shady bbq and picnic areas. More remote beaches are located on the outskirts of Yeppoon; they are wide and flat, with plenty of access ramps, this provides good four wheel driving for the local community.

The sea-side town of Yeppoon also has a well established boat harbour and marina providing easy access for boat owners, fisheries and cruises to the Keppel Bay Area and near by Great Keppel Island.

Yeppoon boasts many activities for both the community and tourists to enjoy. With many clubs for golf, bowls, horse riding, motocross racing, four wheel driving, scrapbooking and embroidery to name a few, Yeppoon caters for a wide variety of people.

Yeppoon is home to Rydges Capricorn Resort that provides two of the top 25 premier resort Golf Courses in the country.

Many sporting associations are based in Yeppoon and offer soccer, basketball, netball, outrigging, surf lifesaving, sailing, tennis, Rugby League, Rugby Union and AFL.

Other entertainment in Yeppoon includes a theatre restaurant, art galleries, theatre productions in the Town Hall and movie nights and special events at the well constructed amphitheatre on the main beach front. Families will also enjoy visiting the Wild Life Park and Koorana Crocodile Farm.

On warmer days, children will love the Capricorn Coast Waterslide just outside of Yeppoon, or the public swimming pool situated in Cooee Bay. Water bikes, Kayaks and Catamarans are also available close by at the Causeway Lake.

Yeppoon has a range of dining available, with new high-class restaurants providing a great dining experience, such as Michaels in Cooee Bay and Beaches Restaurant, Rosslyn Bay Harbour.

If you enjoy a taste of culture there are also very popular Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurants.
Many cafes, takeaway outlets and a renowned ice-creamery are all located in the centre of the Yeppoon CBD.

Yeppoon now offers two shopping centres supplying big names such as Big W, Coles and Woolworths. Shopping is also readily available in the main street of Yeppoon. Yeppoon offers a great range of surf shops, clothing and shoe stores, Home Decor, Sports and Tackle shops, newsagencies, camping stores and discount stores to choose from.

Yeppoon has two hospitals and several doctors in the community. There are several chemists and healthcare is taken into utmost consideration.

Churches are also predominant in Yeppoon, with a wide variety catering for most religions.

As infrastructure continues to increase, Yeppoon is becoming an extremely desired place to live. Yeppoon has all the beauties of the natural coastal location with all of the facilities and accessibility for an easy going lifestyle.
